1st Inclusive Insurance Conference
Theme: “Blockchain & Digital Solutions for Climate Risks and Insurance Anywhere, Anytime, Everybody” 
2-3 October, Bangkok, Thailand
Blockchain beckons. This decentralised and immutable ledger is a powerful platform for the interplay of new and existing models of insurance that may include agriculture, crop, parametric, climate risk and weather index-based insurance. Over time, this could lead to new players entering the ecosystem, such as small scale providers and farmers, while regulatory and supervisory authorities will need to respond with new legislation. Asia Insurance Review and GIZ have co-organised the first-ever innovative Inclusive Insurance Conference to look at how blockchain technology and digitalisation can promote global financial inclusion through innovation and connectivity.

InsurTech Summit Thailand 2018

Outside China, the biggest potential for adoption of InsurTech lies in Thailand. While Singapore provides InsurTech to thrive in a controlled environment, the real opportunity lies in Thailand as it strives to be the ASEAN InsurTech Hub. Given its market conditions and geographic location, it is in prime position to attract startups. This summit will take a deep dive into what it takes for insurTech to take off in Thailand and also showcase the most promising startups in the region.

The Takaful Rendezvous 2018

Technology and InsurTech have changed the competitive landscape in insurance, including that of takaful. To keep in step with the needs of the day, takaful needs to evolve and expand to cover new, emerging and special risks and engaging social media. This rendezvous will examine the strategic needs of takaful operators, challenges like innovation, seeking talent and the absence of an adequate reinsurance market. It will also revisit issues like the need for proactive shariah involvement as well as stricter shariah governance and leadership.

SAS Health and Retirement Conference 2018
Theme: “Technological Transformation: Applying Intelligence, Augmenting Insights”

The diversity of retirement and healthcare needs in an ever more challenging ecosystem of providers, payers and members has created the need for multi-disciplinary ideas and solutions. Insurance Summit on Industrial Revolution 4.0
Theme: “Insurers Need to Step up Their Game” – A Brave New Disrupted Tech World
16-17 October, Seoul, South Korea
The world is in the midst of IR4 – the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the technology-based knowledge revolution that is disrupting almost every industry in the world including insurance. Asia Insurance Review is partnering with the Korea Life Insurance Association for this inaugural conference, which aims to help insurers understand the deep impact of changes, address tech challenges in IR4, as well as provide solutions and case studies from around the world. 

24th Indonesia Rendezvous
Theme: “From potential to reality: 2019 and beyond”
24-27 October, Bali, Indonesia
Held annually and hosted by the Indonesia General Insurance Association, this conference will hear discussion of what lies ahead for insurance, what is expected to happen in the global and domestic economy and what needs to be done by the industry and by regulators to sustain in the future. It will also provide networking opportunities to strengthen relationships.

15th Singapore International Reinsurance Conference
Theme: “Reinsurance Reloaded”
29 October – 1 November, Singapore
The 15th SIRC is organised by Singapore Reinsurers’ Association in conjunction with the Reinsurance Brokers’ Association of Singapore, with Asia Insurance Review as the official media partner. Held at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre at Marina Bay Sands, it will provide high level keynote speeches, networking and cooperation opportunities, with the Lloyd’s Coffee House acting as the integral core of the event where all interested parties meet under one roof. Singapore finance minister Heng Swee Keat is the guest of honour and official keynote speaker, while AIG global president and CEO Brian Duperreault will deliver the industry keynote.
 

PARIMA Tokyo 2018
Theme: “Overcoming Uncertainty”
30 October, Tokyo, Japan
Planned by risk managers for risk managers, this conference, free for all PARIMA members, will focus on topics specially suited to the Japan market, focusing on digital transformation, cyber risk, business interruption, Nat CAT, geopolitical and regulatory risk, human capital risk and international programmes. Expect to hear from over 30 speakers and six insightful educational sessions. 

Asia Summit on Claims Management in a Disrupted and Automated World
Theme: “Superior Claims Handling Through Efficient Underwriting as the Future of Insurance”
19-20 November, Singapore

3rd ASEAN Insurance Summit
Theme: “The Fourth Industrial Revolution and its Impact on the ASEAN Insurance Industry”
