Brokerslink restructures in view of new business model

Source: Asia Insurance Review | May 2015

Following its change in business model from a not-for-profit association to a for-profit organisation, global independent insurance broker network, Brokerslink, recently announced a restructure of its Board of Directors. Former Brokerslink Chairman and current CEO of MDS Group José Manuel Fonseca has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the company.

Mr Fonseca’s appointment will enable him to “both intensify his executive involvement in Brokerslink and coordinate the management of its increased responsibilities toward members, employees, markets clients and shareholders, said the company in a press release.

Ms Jaime Crystal, Executive Vice President of Crystal & Company assumed the role of Chairman of Brokerslink, while Mr Grégory Allard, Executive Vice President of Filhet Allard was named Deputy Chairman. The company also said that going forward, the chairmanship will rotate among members to enable Brokerslink to benefit from a range of management styles over time.

Meanwhile, Mr Shaun Hooper, Chief Executive Officer International of Cooper Gay Swett & Crawford (CGSC), has joined the Board, replacing Mr Steve Jackson, Latin America Regional Commercial Director of CGSC. The latter will now focus his Brokerslink role on business development as Regional Director Americas.

Over the past year, the company had completely restructured the organisation to create a strong management and delivery team. Mr Fonseca said the changes to Brokerslink’s board would place it in an ideal position to ensure network members benefit fully from its transformation into a truly global independent broking company.
