Vietnam: Authorities set health and healthcare goals

About 95% of the Vietnamese population will be covered by national health insurance by 2025, according to a target set by the Communist Party of Vietnam at a plenum in October. 
 
   Average life expectancy in Vietnam will be about 74.5 years old by 2025 and 75 years by 2030, reported the Vietnam News Agency citing a resolution passed at the plenum.
 
   Vietnam also aims that by 2030 the average height of Vietnamese youth will be 168.5 cm for males and 157.5 cm for females.
 
   The resolution states that by 2025, there will be 30 hospital beds, 10 doctors and 25 nurses per 10,000 people. In comparison, according to 2016 data, the country had 25 beds, 8.7 doctors and 14.1 nurses for each 10,000 people. A
