Singapore - Singapore insurers mark country's 50th anniversary by raising over S$500,000 for charity

The Singapore insurance industry marked the 50th year of Singapore’s independence by raising in excess of S$500,000 (US$367,000) for seven beneficiaries through a special charity golf tournament, “SG50 Insurance Golf – Swing for Charity”.
Members of the General Insurance Association of Singapore (GIA), Life Insurance Association, Singapore (LIA) and the Singapore Reinsurers’ Association (SRA) pooled their resources together to organise the charity golf event. Together with the generous sponsorships of the insurance industry and their business partners, the event has raised more than S$500,000.
Nine organisations which committed to be platinum sponsors are: AIA Singapore, AIG Asia Pacific Insurance, General Insurance Association of Singapore, Great Eastern Life Assurance Company, MSIG Insurance (Singapore), NTUC Income Insurance Co-operative, Prudential Assurance Company Singapore, Singapore Reinsurers’ Association and Tokio Marine Insurance Singapore.
