Algeria:Insurers plan moves to increase disaster cover takeup

Catastrophe insurance in Algeria saw premiums grow to DZD1.7 billion (US$20.4 million) last year, compared to DZD500 million in 2005. Despite the growth, penetration is still low and measures are being considered by insurers and the government to increase the acquisition of such insurance.
