Soochow Life Insurance, which is headquartered in Suzhou in the eastern province of Jiangsu, has seen its gross premiums shoot up almost 90 times to CNY3.8 billion (US$533 million) last year from CNY42 million in 2012, the year of its establishment. Gross premiums in 2015 amounted to CNY433.5 million.
