Scientists hack PC using DNA, revealing risks of genetic data misuse

Researchers have used biological malware to take control of a computer and analyse it, in what seems to the first ever successful hack of a software programme using DNA, reported MIT Technology Review last week. This portends the possibility that hackers could one day use faked blood or spit samples to gain access to computers, steal information from labs, or infect genome files shared by scientists, warned the researchers.
