Banks charging higher commission rates for banassurance sales

Banks are charging insurance companies higher commission rates, with the average minimum rates standing at 3.5% during the first six months of this year, from an average of 2-3% in the first half last year. In some cases, the commission rate levied was as high as 8% this year to date.
