SaaS integrates software into the business - and vice versa

At the simplest level, software-as-a-service (SaaS) is a hosted offering. At a more sophisticated level, it is standardised software that is deployed on a public or private cloud. "It is typically highly configurable, with a different financial model as well, either transactional-based or policy-based. It doesn't necessarily have a full front-loaded implementation cost," said SSP general manager, APAC Paul Miller.
