| 07 Sep 2018

Lockton has announced the appointment of Ms Rachael Tay as Lockton's employee benefits leader in Asia.

She will join Lockton in Singapore on 10 September 2018 and will lead a team of 40 staff across the business unit’s core geographies of Singapore, Hong Kong and China. She replaces Andrew Merrilees, who became CEO of BUPA in Hong Kong earlier this year.

Ms Tay gained a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering at Imperial College in London, before commencing employment in the aerospace industry in Singapore. She moved into employee benefits in 2004 as a Director of GYC Financial Advisory, before moving to Mercer where she led the Business Development function.

She was the first employee hired by CXA in 2013, where she was an integral part to the success of the employee benefits brokerage and wellness technology platform business. She led its benefits strategy, product development, new business and client relations functions and over five years, was instrumental in growing CXA to more than 200 employees and 700 clients.

She will oversee growth across multiple industries, and build on the strength of the practice’s financial services and International schools business.
