Fitch upgrades Mitsui Sumitomo to 'A+' with stable outlook

Fitch Ratings has upgraded Japanese insurer Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance's (MSI) Insurer Financial Strength (IFS) Ratings to 'A+' (Strong) from 'A'. The company's IFS rating was previously capped by Japan's long-term local-currency Issuer Default Rating of 'A', although Fitch's new insurance rating criteria has removed such sovereign constraints.
