Middle East:MH17 a "turning point" for aviation risk assessment

The shooting down of the Malaysia Airlines (MAS) MH17 passenger jet last Thursday over eastern Ukraine has increased nervousness among air travellers and airlines, and many among the latter have stepped up risk assessment in conflict-hit areas, including strife-torn zones in the Middle East.
