Global:Cat-related insurance losses lower at US$21 bln for H1

Total economic losses from natural catastrophes and man-made disasters reached US$44 billion in the first half of 2014, of which the global insurance industry covered US$21 billion, down from US$25 billion in H1 2013 and lower than the average first-half year loss of US$27 billion of the previous 10 years.
