Shanghai FTZ sees first incorporated insurer in a JV by 10 companies

The CIRC has approved 10 companies to set up an insurance JV - Shanghai Life Insurance Company - in the Shanghai Free Trade Zone (FTZ). The new insurer has a registered capital of CNY2 billion (US$326 million). It is being billed as the first national-level insurance company to be set up since the State Council approved the goal of rapid development for the Chinese insurance industry in July.
