Action begins now in rural Nepal

The Beema Samiti or the Insurance Board of Nepal has made it mandatory for the 18 life insurers and 20 non-life insurers to open rural branches within the next five years in all the 753 local administrative units across the country. We speak to Mr. Chiranjibi Chapagain, chairman of the Beema Samiti on this initiative and the challenges ahead before the industry in implementing this order.
