Cigna Hong Kong launches customisable health plan
Cigna Hong Kong (Cigna) has launched Cigna DIY Health Plan, enabling customers to select from a range of benefits to build their own personalised medical insurance protection. Customers will be able to choose from seven benefits which cover core outpatient treatment, outpatient surgery, supplementary outpatient treatment, dental, accident, cancer and vision-related treatment.
 
The plan offers coverage of up to HK$1,000,000 ($129,000) if the insured is diagnosed with cancer, or up to HK$300,000 for an early-stage malignancy and carcinoma-in-situ. It also provides a lump-sum payment of up to HK$1,200,000 for accidental death or monthly payments of up to HK$200,000 over a period of six calendar months for total and permanent disability.
 
The plan can be purchased online and allows customers to top up and supplement their existing medical protection. Cigna is currently offering exclusive privileges to customers who apply for the new Cigna DIY Health Plan, with premium discount as high as 30% depending on the combination of benefits purchased.

Prudential introduces dengue protection plan
Prudential Singapore has launched PRUSafe Dengue, an affordable insurance plan that provides financial relief to those infected with the mosquito-borne dengue virus.
 
For a premium of S$5 ($3.77), PRUSafe Dengue provides the following benefits5 for a period of three months:
  • Death benefit – a sum assured of S$20,000 if the life assured dies within 14 days from a dengue fever diagnosis.
  • Hospital cash benefit – S$200 per day up to a maximum of five days if the life assured is hospitalised for dengue fever.
  • Get well benefit – one-time lump sum payout of S$500 if the life assured is diagnosed with dengue fever.
 
PRUSafe Dengue is available to Singapore residents aged between 18 and 69 and can be renewed or repurchased every three months through the Pulse by Prudential digital health and wellness app.

AXA now offering prenatal plan in Singapore
AXA has launched AXA EmpoweredMum, a single premium three-year prenatal plan which comes with unique and comprehensive protection benefits for expectant mothers and their newborn child.
 
Mothers covered by the plan will be able to receive 15% of the sum assured for a caesarean delivery at less than 36 weeks of gestation that is deemed medically necessary by a treating doctor while the newborn will receive free first year health insurance cover without the need for medical underwriting.
 
The plan provides 100% of the sum assured if the mother and child are diagnosed with any of the 15 pregnancy complications and 26 congenital illnesses covered, and will pay out 2% of the sum assured per day of hospitalisation due to any of the covered hospitalisation events (24 covered hospitalisation events for mother and 17 covered hospitalisation events for child), for up to 30 days, and 100% of the sum assured in the event of death.
 
If there is a diagnosis of developmental delay in gross motor or speech development of the child, 15% of the sum assured up to S$3,000 ($2,262) will be provided.
 
This new plan can be purchased under two bundled packages: 1) AXA HappyMummy covering mother and child only, or 2) AXA HappyFamily covering the whole family.

Gibraltar BSN launches new investment-linked plan in Malaysia
Gibraltar BSN Life has launched GoProtect Platinum, an investment-linked plan that allows customers to grow their wealth through savings and investment while staying adequately protected.
 
GoProtect Platinum offers coverage starting from MYR500,000 ($123,500) for death, total and permanent disability, with accidental death coverage increasing fourfold if it occurs overseas. It also provides up to MYR20,000 to help offset recuperation bills when a customer is diagnosed with high blood cholesterol, high blood pressure, or high blood sugar (Type 2 Diabetes).
 
The plan boosts coverage amount by 5% starting from the fifth year until the 11th year, after which it provides an extra premium allocation of 3% every two years to protect against inflation. A
