Vietnam: Insurance market surges by 24% to $2.5bn in premiums

Insurers, including life and non-life ones, collected VND58.6tn ($2.5bn) in premium in the first half of this year, up by 24% year-on-year, according to the Insurance Supervisory Agency under Vietnam’s finance ministry.
They paid a total of VND16.3tn to insurance policy beneficiaries, an increase of 22%.
Meanwhile, life insurers injected over VND215tn ($9.3bn) into the economy in the first half of this year.
