Global:Crashed passenger jet has total insurance cover of US$2.3 bln

The combined insurance coverage on the Boeing 777 aircraft owned by Asiana Airlines that crashed in San Francisco last Saturday stands at US$2.3 billion, says the Financial Supervisory Service. Ten Korean insurers share about 4% of insurance coverage for the plane, with the remaining undertaken by some 30 foreign reinsurers, sources say.
