Japanese life insurer partners investment bank to establish VC fund for Myanmar start-ups

Riding on the long-term economic collaboration between Japan and Myanmar, Taiyo Life Insurance has partnered Japanese investment bank Daiwa Securities Group to establish a $30m venture capital fund in Myanmar. The fund would be used to invest in local start-ups and will mature in 12 years with an investment period of five years, reported Myanmar Times.
