For a while now, industry experts have broadly advocated the need for insurance products to be tailored specifically to customers, and highlighted the risks of failure to do so. Munich Re head of product and innovation for Southeast Asia, Korea and Japan, Mr Nicholas van der Nest's message at the recent Asia InsurTech Summit 2018 reiterated the importance of customer-centric products, albeit with a focus on augmenting the product development process with the use of InsurTech.
