Internet platforms set to have direct insurance agency licences

China's insurance intermediary market may see a new round of reshuffling with the State Council issuing guidelines promoting the development of the online platform economy, as the country aims to leverage Internet-based technologies and services to boost economic growth. The changes in the sector could push prices of an insurance intermediary licence from CNY35m ($4.9m) to around CNY15m.
