Travel trade association ABTA has launched a new travel insurance product that will explicitly cover COVID-19 medical expenses while the policyholder is on holiday. The product will also cover the policyholder if they are unable to travel after catching the coronavirus or if they have been instructed to self-isolate. However, it does not include any cover for travel disruption caused by the pandemic.
