Tune Protect Group appoints Rohit Nambiar as new Group CEO

Tune Protect Group has appointed Rohit Chandrasekharan Nambiar (Rohit) as its Group CEO (GCEO) effective 14 October 2020. Rohit takes over the helm from Khoo Ai Lin who resigned on 31 July 2020.

In his new role, Rohit will be responsible for steering Tune Protect on its continuing journey of strong growth and digital transformation.

Chairman of Tune Protect Group Berhad, Ng Siek Chuan said, “We are proud that Rohit has joined as Group Chief Executive Officer of the Company and to have him lead our operations across Malaysia, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates. With his track record of success spanning 17 years in the Insurance Industry, I am confident that Rohit will help scale our business to a new level of growth and success. Rohit brings to the role not only his invaluable insights, but a wealth of experience built up over an illustrious career."

Rohit’s focus will be on strengthening the company`s reach in the retail consumer space - driving innovation in product ideas and digital solutions, enhancing customer experience by focusing on ease and convenience, and growing the affinity, B2C and B2B2C distribution platforms leveraging big data and technology.


Commenting on his appointment, Rohit said, “I am excited to take on the role of Group Chief Executive Officer for Tune Protect and I look forward to working with our board, employees and all stakeholders concerned in driving and positioning the company’s future as a preferred digital lifestyle insurer across South East Asian markets.”

He began his career as an analyst with AXA in India. He has experience working across various departments and has held senior positions in both local and regional capacities within Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and India.

An industry thought leader, Rohit is passionate about fintech, innovation and making insurance simple. He has won numerous awards and accolades in his illustrious career including that of Young Leader of the Year at the 23rd Asia Insurance Industry Awards 2019

He was also on the judging panel of The 5th Asia Trusted Life Agents & Advisers Awards, made up of close to 30 esteemed judges, comprising of CEOs, Presidents, senior executives and industry leaders, to identify true excellence within the insurance community in Asia.

Most recently, he shared with Asia Advisers Network his insights: one of the raging debates of late across multiple geographies on the increasing health insurance costs.
