The number of the elderly with the highest degree of dependency coping with daily activities -- ranging from dressing, bathing, and feeding to cooking and shopping -- will increase by 31% or 14.02m in a decade to 59.3m in 2030, according to a study by Chinese academics on the trends in functional dependency and project future care needs for older people in China.
