Indonesia’s regulatory push for local risk retention significantly transformed the domestic insurance landscape over the past decade. Even though certain risks, including motor, L&H, credit and cargo, must be ceded locally, there are still opportunities for international reinsurers, particularly in complex risks, as well as collaborations with local (re)insurers.
