Asia: Technology will change the face of the insurance game

Source: Asia Insurance Review | Aug 2016

A recent global survey conducted by PwC revealed that 23% of surveyed insurers do not deal with FinTech. Many experts say this is too high a figure in today’s increasingly technological world.

Technology is fast becoming more than just a fancy tool to impress. CIOs must now play the vanguard role in the adopting and integrating of various information technology platforms into a wieldy weapon that can give their companies an undeniable advantage in response to the rise of FinTech – along with its subset Insurtech – and avoid playing catch-up all the time to the likes of Banking and e-Commerce, which are constantly rebranding to stay ahead of the curve.

He who tech his chances, wins
Asia insurance Review’s 5th Asia Insurance CIO Technology Summit, taking place 5-6 September in Singapore, will feature the theme, “An Innovative CIO as the Game Changer” and it will address issues including a global perspective on cyber threat intelligence, exploring customer-centric digitalization in insurance and looking into the possibilities offered by next generation mobile insurance platforms.

Meanwhile, the Asia Insurance Technology Awards (AITA) organised by Celent and Asia Insurance Review, will also be happening alongside the summit. A segment has also been dedicated to Innovation in Insurance, where we find out all about the latest happenings in the Innovation & InsurTech space.
