Australia:Non-life profit grows 80% to US$5.5 bln in 2012

The non-life sector has recorded a net profit after tax of A$5.4 billion (US$5.5 billion) in 2012, up 80% y-o-y from A$3.0 billion, says the APRA. This represents an 18% return on net assets in the year ended 31 December 2012, up from 10% in the previous year.
