Thai non-life insurers still under pressure a year after floods

The Thai floods of 2011 are continuing to erode domestic non-life insurers' financial positions more than a year after they occurred, with the sector contending with uncertain loss development, stricter capital requirement and stagnant reinsurance payment, said speakers at the 13th CEO Summit in Bangkok yesterday.
