A 6.6-magnitude earthquake which jolted Jinggu County in the southwestern part of China's Yunnan Province at 9:49 p.m. on Tuesday has caused economic losses of more than CNY1.7 billion (US$277 million), according to preliminary estimates by officials of Pu'er City which administers the county.
