The insurance industry is in the age of the customer and CIOs need to recognise this in the course of transforming their businesses to meet changing customer expectations. This was a recurring theme at the ongoing 5th Asia Insurance CIO Technology Summit held in Singapore. Be it the need for speed or catering to new distribution channels and mobile-everything, customer-centricity is key. For the incumbents, working with new players and models may be a way to harness the benefits of Insurtech.
