India:Record number of delegates register for India Rendezvous

| 21 Jan 2019

A record 700 delegates from 38 countries have registered for the 12th India Rendezvous that will be held in Mumbai from the 22 - 24 January 2019.

The annual event jointly organised by Asia Insurance Review and GIC Re will be held at the spacious Taj Lands End Hotel and will once again provide a platform for both insurers and reinsurers as well as intermediaries to come together to take stock of the state of insurance and reinsurance in India.

The India Rendezvous, launched 12 years, has also been transformed into a thought-leadership platform. Several global CEOs have shared their insights via this platform too.

Over the years, the event has received support from IIS, UNCTAD, Geneva Association and FAIR.

The event serves as the impetus to promote discussions on how India can establish itself as a futuristic reinsurance hub for the region. It is imperative for the industry to innovate and stay relevant.

The rise of AI, blockchain and chatbots has created new-age insurers and InsurTechs who are here to stay and with this in mind a very pertinent theme, ‘Reinsurance: Disrupted’ has been selected this year for the Rendezvous.

The 2019 event will look at how the reinsurance industry needs to deal with the tech revolution in the era of disruptive innovations and InsurTechs.

The India Rendezvous has been growing from strength to strength every year. Starting with 250 delegates at the inaugural event in 2008, the Rendezvous is today a must-attend event for anyone interested in doing business in India, drawing over 500 delegates every year over the past six years to this year's sterling record number.
