Cambodia's insurance segment recorded a 2.8% growth in 2025, as compared to 2024. Insurance penetration also hit 1.11 of gross domestic product, with density at $20.95 per capita.
But on the flip side, this expansion has shone a spotlight on the shortage of skilled human resources in the country, according to news platform The Khmer Times.
Quoting Insurance Regulator of Cambodia Director General Bou Chanphirou, the article noted the insurance sector’s expansion has created demand for qualified and skilled professionals.
According to Mr Chanphirou, “closer cooperation between regulators, educational institutions and industry stakeholders” is essential to addressing this shortage, while also supporting sustainable growth.
