Income Insurance has detailed its progress in advancing a responsible transition in its 2025 Sustainability Report, titled 'Here for Tomorrow'.
To build resilience across financial, social and environmental areas, Income Insurance has continued to embed sustainable practices directly into its core business offerings to deliver consistent long-term social impact.
The report also detailed a commitment to inclusive insurance, designed to actively close protection gaps in Singapore, with solutions such as comprehensive personal accident coverage for seniors, as well as long-term care plans.
Advancing climate transition efforts
In its commitment to realising its net-zero ambition by 2050, Income Insurance is focussed on achieving its goal of a 40% reduction in emissions intensity of its public assets portfolio by 2030.
To date, the company has reduced the absolute financed emissions of its public assets portfolio by close to 16%, and improved its weighted average carbon intensity by more than 38% from its 2022 baseline.
In addition, the insurer has established clear decarbonisation pathways, including a target to reduce emissions intensity per gross written premium in its private motor portfolio by 30% by 2030.
Closing protection gaps
To close protection gaps and improve access to insurance, Income Insurance covered nine in 10 seniors who applied for the company’s life insurance products, while more gained protection through personal accident plans.
The insurer also introduced new initiatives, such as counselling support for children affected by a parent’s critical illness, and products that offer enhanced long-term care protection.
