Young Kiwi professionals have been offered an opportunity to attend an international industry event, leadership conference or seminar programme under a scholarship announced by the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) and the Insurance Council of New Zealand (ICNZ).
Created to inspire and build leadership potential among young insurance professionals and to provide support in helping them achieve their goals, the 2017 ICNZ and ANZIIF Scholarship. offers a prize of NZ$10,000 (US$7,310) to attend an industry event or conference.
“We are delighted to offer this opportunity to a member of the New Zealand insurance community. This Scholarship will not only give the winner new skills and knowledge to help them to develop their leadership abilities, it will also enhance their understanding of the industry in a global context, and allow them to represent New Zealand among their international counterparts,” said Mr Tim Grafton, ICNZ Chief Executive.
ANZIIF CEO, Ms Prue Willsford, said: “In today’s global market, the opportunity for the next generation of insurance leaders to grow and develop their leadership skills, international business networks, and industry knowledge is invaluable.”
To apply, entrants must submit a 2,500-word essay in response to a provided question surrounding technology and regulation changing the competitive landscape and leading insurers and brokers to evaluate their business strategy at a fundamental level.
To be eligible, applicants must be:
- a direct employee of a member of the ICNZ
- citizens or permanent residents of New Zealand
- under the age of 35 years.
Applications, which are now open, close at 5 pm (NZST) on 30 October. The winner will be announced in late 2017.
