21st Asia Insurance Industry Awards:Judging over, results to be released at 14th SIRC!

25 Aug 2017

Judges of the 21st Asia Insurance Industry Awards (AIIA) met in Singapore yesterday to evaluate submissions for the Awards. They voted in a secret ballot whose results are being audited.

There were around 40 finalists from all sectors of the industry including insurers, brokers, reinsurers, service providers, risk managers and leading personalities in the market. These were shortlisted from the more than 400 entries received during the nomination period.

At the judging, senior management representatives of these top contenders had a chance to make their ultimate pitch to the panel of 23 judges, themselves insurance industry luminaries. Out of 15 Awards categories, six involved a face to face meeting between the finalists and judges, six categories featured video clips of the finalists and three were assessed following judges’ discussion of their submissions. Many of the judges flew in to Singapore to do their CSR for the industry to select the winners. They engaged in some serious tenacious questioning and discussion of the finalists before casting their confidential votes for winners in 15 categories.

The judging session also provided a platform for the finalists to demonstrate their cutting-edge lead in embracing the latest industry trends and challenges.

Scores will be tabulated and audited by independent auditor KPMG who was present yesterday to observe the proceedings.

Results will be kept secret until the winners are announced at a gala dinner on 1 November 2017, to be held in conjunction with the 14th Singapore International Reinsurance Conference (SIRC).
