Claims:Smart contracts & automatic payouts looming on insurance horizon

| 12 Nov 2018

There's exactly a week to go before the Asia Summit on Claims Management in a Disrupted and Automated World is to be held in Singapore when delegates and speakers will gather to discuss an important core of insurance -- claims management.

To be held on 19 & 20 November 2018 in Singapore, the conference has for its theme: "Superior Claims Handling Through Efficient Underwriting as the Future of Insurance".

A vital topic will be the strategic link between underwriting and claims. Also of great interest is the question of whether or not blockchain and smart contracts will be the future of claims management, and the edge this will give insurers over their competitors.

Things are certainly moving fast in this arena. For instance, MetLife Asia’s Singapore-based innovation centre, LumenLab, is testing the world’s first, automated insurance solution using blockchain technology to offer pregnant women financial protection in case of gestational diabetes, without ever needing to make a claim. The experimental product, known as “Vitana,” securely connects to customers’ electronic medical records via their mobile device to issue a policy within minutes. It triggers an automatic payout upon diagnosis, without the need to make a claim.

More hot topical issues are on the Summit agenda and they are certan to whet your appetite. Register now!
