Union Assurance has become the first life insurer in Sri Lanka to receive certification under the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 standard.
The certification recognises the company's compliance with global standards for managing information security, covering areas such as customer data, business operations and third-party records.
Union Assurance has adopted the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 standard as part of its efforts to strengthen cybersecurity. The company has aligned its approach with frameworks such as the Microsoft Cybersecurity Reference Architecture, the Microsoft Cloud Security Benchmark and the Centre for Internet Security IG2.
It has also updated its security systems to support remote work and protect data against unauthorised access.
