The Philippine non-life sector rebounded last year from catastrophe-hit 2009, posting strong performances in both premium growth and underwriting result. It continues to be beset with challenges, though, as it deals with rising claims from CAT-related perils this year and with the increased capitalisation requirement. By Manuelita Contreras
