Gulliver's travels: The journey ahead for Asian reinsurers

By 2020, it is said that reinsurers from currently underpenetrated markets in South America, Asia, Africa and the Middle East are likely to emerge as giant global players competing with established reinsurers from developed markets on their home markets in Europe or the US. Whilst this scenario is certainly possible, it will probably be a long and winding road for Asian reinsurers to eventually establish a global footprint.
