Source: Asia Insurance Review | Apr 2015

In line with the reinvention and increase in services of the International Insurance Society (IIS), the organisation’s annual seminar has been rebranded as the Global Insurance Forum (GIF). The new designation aligns with the growing stature of the event and IIS’ strategic objectives, according to an official statement released.

The 2015 Global Insurance Forum will take place in New York from 14-17 June with the theme “Filling the Protection Gap”, and will include discussions on retirement and savings, natural catastrophe and terrorism, environment and pollution, and healthcare.

The speaker line-up boasts an impressive roster including: Peter Hancock, AIG; Bill Berkley, W.R. Berkley; John Strangfeld, Prudential; Greig Woodring, RGA; Kean Driscoll, Validus Re; Alex Moczarski, Guy Carpenter, among others. Recognising the disruptive forces and change agents that impact our industry, Vint Cerf, Chief Internet Evangelist of Google, also known as one of “the fathers of the internet”, will provide a keynote address, offering unique perspectives and intellectual insights that the IIS programmes are known for.

The IIS is in the midst of implementing a series of changes and enhancements to expand member services and will launch a new IIS website which will serve as the nucleus of activities. It will include a library of content on the newly established core themes: Economic Security, Environmental Security, Regulation and Governance, and Market Development.
