Asia: Aon Risk Solutions strengthens leadership team
Aon Risk Solutions in Australia has promoted Mr Jason Disborough to a global position as joint CEO, Multinational Clients – part of a strategic move to further strengthen the company’s offering across its global, corporate and multinational client space. He will share the CEO role with Chicago-based Christopher Baudouin, and will continue to be based in Australia.
   In this new role, Mr Disborough, previously Managing Director of Aon’s Global and Corporate client segment in Australia, will be tasked with driving global multinational client strategy. The role will be predominantly focused on the Asia-Pacific region. In this remit, Mr Disborough will continue to work closely with the Australian service teams and clients, whilst contributing to the formation of the overall growth strategy of Aon’s multinational client sector.
 
DUAL Asia Pacific appoints non-executive chairman
Specialist underwriter DUAL Asia Pacific has announced the appointment of Mr Terry Paradine as Non-Executive Chairman. Mr Paradine brings a wealth of knowledge and diversity of experience to DUAL with over 40 years’ experience in the industry including the former role of Chairman and CEO of Marsh Ltd in Asia Pacific. 
 
Australia: New partners join Clyde & Co Australia
International law firm Clyde & Co has continued its rapid expansion in Australia with the addition of two new partners to the firm.
   Mr Kon Nakousis has joined Clyde & Co as a partner in the Sydney office, and will be part of the growing projects and construction practice led by partner Mr David McElveney which focuses on transactional and disputes work.
   Mr Gareth Horne is the first Clyde & Co lawyer in Australia to become partner. He is one of 13 new Clyde & Co internal partner promotions announced globally in 2015. Mr Horne is a commercial litigator with particular expertise advising on insurance coverage issues and acting for insurers and their insureds in litigated proceedings and alternative dispute resolution.
 
Munich Re appoints Chief Representative Officer (Designate) for India and Indian Sub-continent
Munich Re has appointed Mr Hitesh Kotak as Chief Representative Officer (Designate) for India and Indian Sub-continent. He will be responsible for property & casualty lines of business for this region. 
   Mr Kotak worked at Tata Motors in the distribution function and was one of the founding team members of ICICI Lombard General Insurance. In his insurance career, he spent 13 years in different roles including retail and bancassurance, international business and reinsurance. 
 
Malaysia: AmMetLife Takaful names new chief
AmMetLife Takaful Berhad has received regulatory approval from Bank Negara Malaysia to appoint Mr Mohamad Salihuddin Ahmad as its new CEO. In this role, he will be responsible for executing a transformation strategy to achieve profitable growth, accelerate shareholder return, as well as ensuring the operational effectiveness of the AmMetLife Takaful business in Malaysia.
 
Singapore: Tokio Marine Kiln expands team
Specialist and corporate insurance provider, Tokio Marine Kiln (TMK) recently added Mr Edmund Lee to its trade and political risk underwriting team in Singapore. Mr Lee brings a wealth of knowledge and technical capability from a career in both banking and insurance sectors. At TMK, he will focus on underwriting specialist trade credit, trade, surety and political risk products in the Asian region.
 
Global: Former Prudential Asia chief heads to US
UK insurance giant Prudential recently announced the appointment of Mr Barry Stowe as the Chairman and CEO of its North American Business Unit. He succeeds Mr Mike Wells who now helms the Group as Chief Executive.
   While Mr Stowe has left the Asia operations, he remains on the Board of Prudential plc. Joining the Board, and succeeding him as Prudential Corporation Asia Chief Executive is Mr Tony Wilkey, formerly the Chief Executive for Insurance at Prudential Corporation Asia.
   A veteran and well-known personality in the insurance space, Mr Stowe had held various senior roles across the different insurance sectors worldwide. He most recently helmed Prudential’s Asian operations for six years, and had played a pivotal role in the Group’s regional business growth. 
   Meanwhile, with the departure of Mr Pierre-Olivier Bouée, Mr John Foley, Group Investment Director, has agreed to take on the role of Interim Group Chief Risk Officer until a permanent successor is found. Mr Foley will remain on the Group Executive Committee and attend meetings of the Board.
 
Global: Endurance reinsurance head steps down, successor announced
Mr Jerome Faure, CEO of Global Reinsurance at Endurance will step down on 1 January 2016. He will be succeeded by Mr Stephen Young, who currently serves as Executive Vice President, Chief Underwriting Officer and Head of Global Catastrophe Reinsurance. Mr Young will retain his role as Head of Global Catastrophe Reinsurance.
 
Global: ERGO and Munich Re Boards confirm appointments
The Supervisory Board of ERGO Versicherungsgruppe AG has confirmed the appointment of Dr Markus Rieß to the ERGO Board of Management and also as its Chairman. 
   He succeeds Mr Torsten Oletzky, who had announced in April that he would leave the Group for personal reasons at the end of 2015. Mr Oletzky will leave the ERGO Board of Management on 15 September, but continues to be available to ERGO in an advisory capacity until the end of the year.
   Meanwhile, the Supervisory Board of Munich Re has also appointed Dr Rieß to the Munich Re Board of Management, where he will be responsible for the primary insurance/ERGO field of business, as well as for asset manager MEAG’s third-party business. 
   Both appointments will take effect on 16 September 2015. 
 
Global: Bellwood Prestbury appoints new Head of Global Healthcare
Specialist global insurance intermediary Bellwood Prestbury has appointed Mr Andrew Apps to the newly created position of Head of Global Healthcare. In his role, Mr Apps will report directly to the Managing Director, and will be responsible for overseeing the company’s global medical insurance business as the company expands its global footprint.
 
Global: New group finance head for JLT
Mr Charlie Rozes has been named Group Finance Director at Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group plc, succeeding Mr Mike Reynolds who has moved to the role of CEO for JLT Re.
   Mr Rozes will join JLT on 1 September 2015 and, subject to Financial Conduct Authority approval, will be reporting to Group Chief Executive Dominic Burke. The former will also join the Board as an Executive Director and will be a member of the Group Executive Committee, while Mr Reynolds will step down from the Board on that date, but will remain a member of the Group Executive Committee.
 
Global: New lead for Tokio Millenium Re’s UK branch
Tokio Millennium Re AG, the Zurich-based global reinsurer and subsidiary of Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Co Ltd., announced that Mr Mark Julian will assume the role of Head of Tokio Millennium Re AG, UK Branch, subject to regulatory approval. He will replace Mr Takayuki (Taka) Sumi, who will be returning to Japan to assume a new role within the Tokio Marine group. 
 
Global: WBN adds COO to senior management ranks
Ms Francie Starnes has taken on the newly-created post of President and Chief Operating Officer at Worldwide Broker Network (WBN), an integrated international network of independent property & casualty brokers and employee benefits consultants.
   Formerly Vice President of Global Commercial Distribution and Manager of Independent Broker Networks (IBN) for American International Group (AIG) Property Casualty, Ms Starnes will report to WBN’s CEO, Mr Bruce Basso.
