The World Bank is exploring possibilities for funding the development of Bangladesh’s insurance industry and enhancing its capability, with a technical team holding meetings with the government.
The global institution plans to provide funds of around US$80 million to the sector for 30 years, reported the Financial Express.
Areas which could be funded by the World Bank include the Bangladesh Insurance Academy, finalisation and execution of insurance regulations and the organisational structure of the Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority.
