Hong Kong: Swiss Re receives general insurance licence

Swiss Re Corporate Solutions’ wholly owned Luxembourg subsidiary, Swiss Re International SE, has received formal authorisation from the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance Hong Kong to carry on general insurance business in or from Hong Kong.
The newly licensed entity, Swiss Re International SE Hong Kong Branch (SRI HK), began operations immediately last month. In addition to standard property and casualty insurance, SRI HK offers professional and financial lines, engineering and construction, energy, marine, credit and customised risk-transfer solutions.
Swiss Re Corporate Solutions’ operations across Asia Pacific now comprise 10 offices across Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan and Singapore.
