Asia: Cigna boosts distribution platform with senior appointments
Cigna has announced the appointment of two senior executives to new roles in regional distribution. Mr Ray Bond has been named Regional Head of Distribution – Individual Health and Mr Raymond Ng has been appointed Regional Head of Distribution – Global Health Benefits (GHB). 
 
   Based in Hong Kong, Mr Bond and Mr Ng have joined Cigna’s Asia Pacific Leadership team led by Mr Patrick Graham, Chief Executive Officer, Asia Pacific, Cigna International Markets.

?Asia: Swiss Re further strengthens Life & Health business by enhancing Solutions Groups
Swiss Re Life & Health Asia has enhanced its Solutions Groups, with several new hires. Ms Raquel Gonzalez joins as Head of Solutions Groups from FWD Group. In her new role, she will oversee the four Solutions Groups and report to Mr Robert Burr, Head of Life & Health, Reinsurance Client Markets Asia at Swiss Re.
 
   Other new hires include Mr Yannick Even who will lead InsurTech Solutions, Ms Sherry Du who will lead the Accelerator Group, Ms Sohila Kwan who leads Health & Medical Solutions and Mr Doan Le who leads Inforce Solutions.

Asia: Generali appoints Regional Head of P&C, Retail
Generali Asia has appointed Mr Fabrice Benard as Regional Head of Property & Casualty (P&C), Retail for Asia. Mr Benard will be responsible for steering the strategic growth and development of Generali’s Asia P&C Retail business. He will be based in Hong Kong and reports directly to Regional Officer Roberto Leonardi.

Asia: FP Marine Risks names new CEO
Hyperion Insurance Group has appointed Mr Mark Johnson as CEO of its Hong Kong headquartered specialty marine business, FP Marine Risks Ltd. It also announced that with effect from 1 April 2017, FP Marine will become part of RKH Specialty, also part of Hyperion.
 
   Mr Johnson, whose appointment is subject to regulatory approval, will take over from Mr Richard Walker, who will return to his role as Chairman of FP Marine after stepping into the CEO position in last year.

Asia: AIA names new CEO
AIA Group Ltd has named Mr Ng Keng Hooi as Group Chief Executive, replacing Mr Mark Tucker who is leaving to take up the role of non-executive Group Chairman of HSBC Holdings plc. 
 
   Mr Ng joined AIA in 2010, and was previously CEO of Great Eastern Holdings Ltd, and held leadership roles at Prudential Plc. He is currently AIA’s regional chief executive and has been appointed CEO-designate with immediate effect, and will succeed Mr Tucker with effect from 1 September 2017.

Australia: Allianz begins search for new MD 
Allianz Australia has started the search for a new MD after announcing that Mr Niran Peiris will move to Germany to take a position on the global board. Mr Peiris will leave Allianz Australia at the end of the year after 16 years with the company.
 
   From 1 January 2018, he will be board member responsible for the property and casualty businesses in “Anglo” markets (including Australia and New Zealand), global insurance lines (including Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty), Russia and the group’s commitment to environment, social and governance 
issues.
 
   These responsibilities are currently held by board member Mr Axel Theis, who will take over insurance in German-speaking countries and central and Eastern Europe.

Australia: Actuaries Institute names new President and leadership team
The Actuaries Institute has announced Ms Jenny Lyon as their new President. Ms Lyon is the Actuaries Institute’s fifth woman president, and is joined by Mr John Evans as Senior Vice President, and Ms Nicolette Rubinsztein as Vice President. Ms Lyon is a director of SKL Executive, a specialist actuarial recruitment consulting firm.

Australia: Zurich unveils new local GI heads
Former Executive General Manager (EGM) global corporate, Mr Giles Crowley, has been confirmed as Head of Commercial, while former EGM commercial, Mr Steven Ord, is now Chief Distribution Officer.

Hong Kong: Sun Life appoints new CEO, announces three new senior leaders
Sun Life Hong Kong’s (SLHK) Board of Directors has appointed Mr Fabien Jeudy as its new CEO. In this role, Mr Jeudy will be responsible for overseeing and growing SLHK operations which include life & health insurance, wealth management and the pensions business.
 
   Mr Jeudy has over 27 years of experience across Sun Life’s businesses in Hong Kong, Canada, the United States, Indonesia, the Philippines, India and Vietnam. Most recently, he was the Regional Chief Operating Officer for Sun Life Financial.
 
   SLHK has also announced three other senior appointments: Ms Belinda Au is General Manager, Distribution and Marketing, Ms Belinda Luk is General Manager, Wealth and Pensions and Mr Clement Lam is General Manager, Life and Health. 

Japan: Swiss Re Corporate Solutions announces Country Head
Swiss Re Corporate Solutions has appointed Mr Paul Atkinson to the position of Country Head Japan, subject to regulatory approval. He succeeds Mr Juerg Stoll, who has held the role since 2010 and is now Country Head Malaysia. Mr Atkinson is a fluent Japanese speaker with commercial insurance experience accumulated in Hong Kong, Japan, London and Taiwan.

Malaysia: Swiss Re Corporate Solutions opens new office
Swiss Re Corporate Solutions has opened an office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and appoints Mr Juerg Stoll as its country head. The office became operational on 1 March, with Mr Stoll, formerly Swiss Re Corporate Solutions country head for Japan, moving to Kuala Lumpur to head the business. He will report to Mr Jonathan Rake, the South East Asia head at the commercial lines carrier.

Singapore: HDI relocated property business manager
HDI Global SE in ASEAN and Australasia has relocated Mr Graham Silton to Singapore to run HDI’s Property business. Mr Silton is currently based in Sydney as Underwriting Manager Property ASEAN & Australasia. 
 
   Mr Kai Brüggemann will become Underwriting Manager Property & Marine in the Sydney office. In addition to his new Property responsibility in Australasia, he will continue his Marine activities in Southeast Asia.

Global: Bruce Carnegie-Brown confirmed as next Chairman of Lloyd’s
Mr Bruce Carnegie-Brown is to become the Chairman of Lloyd’s in June 2017, subject to formal approval and consent from the Prudential Regulation Authority and the Financial Conduct Authority. This appointment follows unanimous approval and support by Lloyd’s Council and the Lloyd’s Franchise Board respectively. He succeeds Mr John Nelson, who retires after a nearly six-year tenure.
 
   Mr Carnegie-Brown, a 35-year financial industry veteran, is currently Chairman of Moneysupermarket.com Group and vice-Chairman of Banco Santander S.A. 

Global: Aon Risk Solutions appoints new UK CEO 
Aon Risk Solutions (ARS) has appointed Ms Julie Page as the CEO in the UK with effect from 1 April.
 
   Ms Page replaces Mr Andrew Tunnicliffe, who has stepped down from the role. However, Mr Tunnicliffe will continue to work on a part-time basis with ARS UK and EMEA.

Global: QBE reveals new Group COO
QBE Insurance Group Limited has appointed former Aviva plc executive Mr David McMillan as Group COO. He will join QBE in the latter part of 2017 and will be based in its London office. 
 
   Mr McMillan was most recently CEO, Aviva Europe and Chairman of Global Health Insurance. 

Global: Swiss Re unveils new Group Chief Underwriting Officer
Mr Edouard Schmid, a Swiss Re veteran, has been named as the reinsurer’s new Group Chief Underwriting Officer. From 1 July 2017, he will succeed incumbent Mr Matthias Weber, who will step down after 25 years with the company to “begin a new chapter in his life”, said the reinsurer in a statement.

Global: XL Group appoints new CFO to succeed retiring incumbent
XL Group Ltd has announced that Group Controller Mr Stephen Robb will succeed Mr Peter Porrino as CFO, following the latter’s retirement on 1 May. He will report to XL CEO Mr Mike McGavick and join XL’s Leadership Team.
 
   Mr Porrino will continue with the Company on a part-time basis, working as an adviser to Mr McGavick.

Global: Lloyd’s insurer Chaucer promotes new CEO
The Hanover Insurance Group, Inc has promoted Mr John Fowle to CEO of Chaucer Syndicates, Ltd, subject to Lloyd’s and regulatory approval. 
 
   Mr Fowle replaces Mr Johan Slabbert, who is leaving the company to pursue other opportunities.
