Reinsurers will look to explore fresh opportunities, both from within and outside its traditional landscape at the 14th SIRC, to be held from 31 October to 2 November this year with a star-studded cast of speakers.

Themed “New Partnerships in Reinsurance”, the SIRC which goes annual from this year, has confirmed Mr Lim Hng Kiang, Singapore’s Minister for Trade & Industry and MAS Deputy Chairman, as its official guest-of-honour to deliver the opening address, and Hannover Re Executive Board Chairman Ulrich Wallin as the Industry Keynote speaker. One of this year’s highlights is a keynote presentation by Dr Marc Faber, editor and publisher of “The Gloom, Boom & Doom Report”.

The conference will have two dedicated panels: a high-level executive discussion on “Reinsurance Responsibilities and Opportunities in the New World Disorder”, and an Executive Panel on “Future of Reinsurance – A View from the Outside”. Ample opportunities will be provided for networking with an extra day set aside for closer interactions at the expanded SIRC Lloyd’s Coffee House and at respective bilateral meeting rooms from 31 October.

Considered the premier reinsurance gathering in Asia, the SIRC draws key decision-makers and senior management executives from within the insurance, reinsurance, broking and regulatory communities. The 13th SIRC in 2015 attracted some 996 registered delegates from nearly 50 countries, with some 70 sponsors and exhibitors.

The 14th SIRC is organised by the Singapore Reinsurers’ Association (SRA), with the Reinsurance Brokers’ Association of Singapore (RBAS) and the Singapore College of Insurance (SCI) as co-organisers, and Asia Insurance Review as its official media partner.
