Pakistan: Insurers need to pull up socks to benefit from economic corridor

The Pakistan Economy Watch (PEW) has said that the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is invigorating all sectors of the insurance industry.
 
The insurance industry needs to invest more in human resource development, innovation and improved teamwork to properly benefit from the opportunities resulting from one of the world’s biggest developmental projects the world, said PEW president Dr Murtaza Mughal.
 
According to a report by Pakistan Observer, Dr Mughal said that the insurance sector needs to introduce new products and improve its working to match global standards otherwise the local insurance industry will be ignored by multinationals.
 
He also stressed the need to create awareness among masses and the business community regarding the benefits of insurance to strengthen the economy. A
