Singapore: Government plans to enhance compulsory universal health insurance

Preliminary enhancements to MediShield Life, the compulsory universal health insurance scheme in Singapore, has been identified and correspondingly, premiums will be adjusted. 
 
This is the first major review of the scheme since its launch in 2015 and the changes are expected to be implemented in early 2021.
 
The three areas to be enhanced are refreshing and refining claim limits to provide better coverage, enhancements to support larger healthcare transformation as well as other proposed enhancements.
 
MediShield Life protects all Singaporean citizens against large medical bills regardless of pre-existing conditions for life. A
