IUMI 2021 
2–15 September, Seoul virtual conference
The annual IUMI Conference, the largest event in the marine insurance industry, will be held in Seoul online for the first time in history. During the 10-day event, more than 40 presentation and discussion workshops will be held covering a wide range of topics including statistics, policy, hull, cargo, marine resources and energy, legal and loss prevention. 
 
47th African Insurance Organisation (AIO) Conference and Annual General Assembly
Theme: ‘Rebuilding Africa’s Economy – The Insurance Perspective’
4–8 September, Lagos, Nigeria
The conference will to look at the broader issues of how insurance can contribute to and benefit from the efforts at rebuilding the African economy post-COVID-19. 
 
Joint Regional Seminar in Asia 2021
Theme: ‘The post-pandemic actuarial world’
8-28 September
The Joint Regional Seminar is an annual event co-organised by the Institute & Faculty of Actuaries and Actuaries Institute Australia with the support of local actuarial societies in the region.  It is designed to assist actuaries and other professionals in meeting their CPD requirements. To weather the crisis and uncertainties and keep up with the evolving regulatory, technological and business landscapes, actuaries have a significant role to play in helping the industry adapt to a post-pandemic world.  
The virtual seminar will begin with a half-day regional programme on 8 September 2021 which will be hosted in Hong Kong for all participants from the Asia region and all local association’s will host their own virtual half-day programme.  
 
3rd Annual Sharm El Sheikh Insurance & Reinsurance Rendezvous and FAIR 27th Conference
19–23 September, Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt
The Insurance Federation of Egypt in cooperation and coordination with the Federation of Afro-Asian Insurers and Reinsurers, will organise the 3rd Annual Sharm El Sheikh Insurance & Reinsurance Rendezvous, and the FAIR 27th Conference.
 
2021 Dive In Festival 
Theme: ‘Active Allyship’
21–23 September
Dive In, the international festival for diversity and inclusion (D&I) in insurance, is helping insurance get fit for the future, highlighting the business case for diverse and inclusive workplaces and providing practical ideas and inspiration for how to bring about positive change.
 
This year the festival will take place virtually for the first time meaning that festival goers will be able to access events all around the world, from New Zealand to South America. Among the main themes at this year’s festival include mental health, modern families and carers and multi-generational workplaces to add to gender, LGBT+, multicultural, ethnicity, and disability.
 
Virtual Asia Employee Benefits Conference
29 September
With the emergence of mobile, flexible workforce in a globalised economy and the demographic shift as baby boomers head toward retirement, there is a real challenge for employers to build benefits package for today’s employees. Companies also still struggle to manage the dynamics of a multigenerational workforce while keeping the turnover low. This event will draw employers, HR managers, insurers and brokers into the EB dialogue more effectively to find lasting solutions for the future generations.
 
Asia Nat CAT and Climate Change Conference 2021
5–6 October
Over the past few years billions were paid out in Nat CAT losses – which also saw lives lost. Despite hi-tech gadgets, even risk modelling is growing more complex. Future risks can no longer be calculated based on past events. In Asia this is an even more compelling question given the spate of devastating events over the past few years.
 
This two-day conference will take a long hard look at the role of insurance in managing Nat CAT as well as the critical issues related to climate change, regulatory challenges, and the role of governments, underwriting strategies and risk assessment through more sophisticated CAT modelling tools.
 
4th ASEAN Insurance Virtual Summit 2021
Theme: ‘Building a More Resilient & Sustainable ASEAN’
26 October, Singapore
The ASEAN Insurance Summit plays an important role as an active platform for ASEAN insurance authorities, regulators, insurers, practitioners and other stakeholders to exchange views on new developments, technologies and innovations as well as their impacts on regional cooperation and integration in the insurance and reinsurance sectors. The summit is one of the important initiatives of the ASEAN Insurance Council and as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the event this year will be a virtual one. 
 
FT Asia Insurance Summit
Theme: ‘Robust strategies for the decade to come’
28 October
The insurance sector has proven resilient throughout the past year’s events and is seeing a renewed demand for its products as the region begins to emerge from the pandemic. Now in its eighth year, the Financial Times’ Asia Insurance Summit will gather C-level executives from insurance, asset management, service industries as well as research and technology thought leaders to explore the most effective strategies for growth and resilience ahead of the next, unpredictable decade.
 
Singapore International Reinsurance Conference
Theme: ‘The Art of Dissent – Reinsurance Reality Check’
15–18 November
The Singapore International Reinsurance Conference (SIRC) was launched in 1991 to provide insurance professionals a forum to meet and discuss issues of the day, while taking stock of developments in the reinsurance market; and starting preparations for the following year’s treaty renewals.
 
Over the years, the SIRC has gained a strong reputation and loyal following, with reinsurers, insurers and reinsurance brokers from all over the world attending and conducting bilateral discussions alongside the main conference, which has attracted close to 1,000 registered delegates from around the world since 2017 when the Conference was organised annually.
