Mr Charles Collis, a partner with the legal firm, Conyers Dill & Pearman, comments on a new phenomenon on the Bermudian scene in 2005, which is the rising popularity of sidecars. Saying that the popularity of the sidecars stem from the fact that the investors are hedge funds, these sidecars to date have all entered into reinsurance contracts with their principal insurance or reinsurance companies.
