Insurers in Singapore welcome SG50 with promotions and more

AIA, AXA and Great Eastern have announced various promotions and initiatives to celebrate the island’s 50th birthday. The country’s jubilee year is represented by the logo SG50.
Free insurance coverage for couples and babies this year
AIA said they will be giving away one year’s worth of insurance coverage for couples getting married in 2015 and parents of jubilee babies (babies born in 2015) with a Term Insurance plan. They are also offering discounts to the premiums for these couples and parents of the babies in the first two years of their new life chapters.
There will also be gift cards, free gym memberships and wellness programmes and AIA will raise S$250,000 to benefit 50 families from Asian Women’s Welfare Association.
Jubilee Baby Pack
Pampering the Jubilee babies too is Great Eastern which will give these babies free health insurance for their first year worth S$108 (US$80). There will also be a Jubilee Baby Pack which will comprise a customised bib together with a pair of mittens and booties, all of which will be mailed to parents-to-be two months before the expected date of delivery. In addition, they will also be invited to Great Eastern’s Live Great events and workshops on parenting and child development.
The insurer will also fulfil 50 meaningful wishes in 2015 which will be chosen from wishes submitted by the public. And last but not least, Great Eastern’s employees and financial consultants are also targeting to raise S$500,000 for the community and the underprivileged through a series of activities in 2015.
Special discounts for people aged 50 and above this year
Focussing on the older generation is AXA. People in Singapore aged 50 and above can look forward to a series of special discounts on several general and life insurance solutions in 2015 from the insurer.
Saying that this is AXA’s way of expressing its “thanks and gratitude to those in their silver years who have dedicated their lives to building the community and nation”, AXA elaborated that the insurance solutions available at privileged discounts include a home insurance plan, a retirement plan, and a travel insurance plan.
